Then I should have recorded for you when I accompanied a man on piano yesterday, we had a kind of celebration at the university. He sang this exact song but his pianoman became sick so I jumped in. 😀

Be honest, were you stressed for the first seconds when you knew you have to perform it in such an improvisational format, or were you like "Yeah, I’ve been practicing for this my whole life!" 😀

Yes, I was very stressed at first. 😀 But after all, I was the one who told them hey don’t worry I can make it, after we started performing it was all fine. And the man also encouraged me, before the performance he asked me to play a few chords so he knows in what style I play. I don’t know, but polish people were always nice to me in general, this man wasn’t an exception either. 😀

Well, sexy bitch sounds like good way to say that you are pretty. Well, as i imagine, you are it seems at least i think that after meeting. 😀 This guy just wanted to say, that you are pretty, nothing wrong. 😛

Actually, it is polish/ukrainian folk song, and lyric connetct more with Ukraina, than Poland. However, it is very, very popular in Poland, especialy nowadays, when Poland wants to show their support for Ukraine.

Well I’m not that pretty, but thank you 😀 yes, about the song, I know it’s more connected to Ukraine 🙂 honestly it was in my head before I made this thing so I was like why not.

That’s so moving, Nicolette! <3 Good job!
The melody is used by voluntary Polish soldiers fighting for Ukraine with a new text. The theme was also used by Krzesimir Dębski, a Polish composer, who placed it in the movie With Fire and Sword from 1998. Listen to this:

The book by Henryk Sienkiewicz and the movie itself is a bit controversial, as it shows the conflict between Cossacs and Polish nobles, but it’s a great story anyway.

Thank you a lot! 🙂 Honestly I’ve never read that book, but it’s on my list. I got a collection of polish books in hungarian a week ago so I might find it there.
